First Union Council of the Year

In General

Reading Time: < 1 minute

You can tell the new term is in full swing now, as it’s the first Union Council of the year on Monday 22 October at 5pm.

Union Council is the highest decision making body in SUSU, and is the place where important decisions are made on policy and where the elected officers are held to account. There are reports from the Sabbatical Officers and a chance to question them on their goals, achievements and what they’re working on.

This first Union Council also includes some elections,  and as well as electing Councillors onto the various standing committees, there will be a chance for anyone to stand for appointment to University Committees, including University Senate and University Court. You can find out more about these committees on the University website here.

In a change from last year, Union Council is now no longer held in The Cube and will be in The Senate Room (Room 4069) on Level 4 of Building 37 (George Thomas Building), which can be found opposite the Jubilee Sports Centre. You can even view a special video tour here

Full agenda and papers for Union Council can be viewed here.
