Crowds  gathered at the Bridge to enjoy an evening of motivation as SUSU hosted their special Inspiring Women event.

Starting at 6.30pm the free event saw guests greeted with drinks and canapés (served by some very smartly dressed sabs!) before they sat down to listen to the talks from a selection of amazing women.

Tessa Harrison, Registrar, University of Southampton was the first to talk, telling of her experiences as a female academic and the inspirations behind her career choices, before Suki Sitaram is the Assistant Chief Executive at the Southampton City Council  spoke about her career journey in England and the challenges she faced to get here.

Our very own Chief Executive, Jackie Booth then got everyone involved with some motivational activities to help increase confidence and assertiveness.  And to round off the evening Parvin Damani MBE and Josephine Knowles from anti Sexual exploitation   charity, Beyond the Streets, gave two final talks before the floor was open to question and answers.

The unique event comes as part of a series of training workshops organised by Your Skills, aimed at unlocking the potential of every student.
