Always wanted to be a Union Councillor? Now’s your chance
We’ve got nine places left on Union Council that will be up for grabs at the next meeting, on Monday 2 December at 7pm.
Union Council is the top decision-making body here at SUSU and sets the direction for everything we do, and also holds your elected officers to account.
The places are available for students from particular backgrounds or studying in particular faculties – there are two post-grad (taught) places, two part-time student places and one a mature undergrad place (for those who started at 21 or older). We also have two places for students in both Health Sciences and Medicine.
If you’re interested in sitting on Union Council and having your voice heard at the very top of SUSU, then you’ll just need to come along to the meeting on Monday, give a brief speech explaining why you think you should be elected, and the other Council members will then vote.
The meeting on Monday is in the Senate Room in Building 37 (on the fourth floor), and if you think you might be interested you don’t need to do anything other than turn up, but if you do have any questions or want to find out more, please email democracy@susu.org.
