Nominations will be open from Friday 7 February at 12pm and will close on Monday 17 February.

Voting will be between Monday 24 and Friday 28 February (week 22) and the results will be announced on Friday at a special Results Night ceremony, starting at 7pm in the Cube.

70 positions are up for election, from President of the Union to 30 Union Councillors.

Up for grabs are seven full-time (sabbatical) positions, and 63 part-time positions – Student Leaders, student trustees and Union Councillors – you can find out more about the positions here.

David Martin, Vice-President for Democracy & Creative Industries and Deputy Returning Officer for the elections, said:

“I’m really excited to be able to release the dates for these elections – they’re the best opportunity for students to get involved in running their Union every year and we’re looking forward to the 2014 elections being bigger and better than before.

“This time next year, as President you could be in charge of an organisation with over 400 staff, a multi-million pound turnover, and helping make students’ lives better on a daily basis.

“As a student leader, you could be doing anything from running the student radio station to helping more people get involved in sports, or overseeing the work of the JCRs.

“This year, we’re also focusing on students from under-represented backgrounds and trying to push how easy it is to run – there will be lots more information about this soon.”

More information about the elections will be released in the New Year and special events will be held for students to find out more about the opportunities available.
