Nominations for spring elections open in one month on Friday 7 February at 12pm. The nominations will then close on Monday 17 February.

Voting takes place between Monday 24 and Friday 28 February (week 22) and the results will be announced on Friday at a special Results Night ceremony, starting at 7pm in the Cube.

70 positions are up for election, from President of the Union to Union Councillors.

Up for grabs are seven full-time (sabbatical) positions, and 63 part-time positions – Student Leaders, student trustees and Union Councillors – you can find out more about the positions here.

David Martin, Vice-President for Democracy & Creative Industries and Deputy Returning Officer for the elections, said:

“As President you could be in charge of an organisation with over 400 staff, a multi-million pound turnover, and helping make students’ lives better on a daily basis.

“As a student leader, you could be doing anything from running the student radio station to helping more people get involved in sports, or overseeing the work of the JCRs.

“This year, we’re also focusing on students from under-represented backgrounds and trying to push how easy it is to run – there will be lots more information about this soon.”
