SUSU AGM to take place on 14 May 2014
Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held at 12pm on 14 May 2014 in The Bridge, and is one of the most important meetings of the year for students at the University of Southampton.
Policy and idea suggestions are now open on the SUSU website. Ideas for policy must be submitted by Monday 28 April 2014 at 5pm to be considered, while policies which you want to be debated at the AGM must be submitted by 7 May 2014 at noon. These suggestions will then be discussed at the meeting.
Students will also be asked to approve the Annual Report, the Annual Accounts, the Report of the Trustees for the year end 31 July 2013, and a list of the affiliations of the Union.
By attending the AGM, you can vote on student-submitted policies and the election of the Chair of Union Council for the next academic year. However, if you cannot attend the meeting in person, by registering a proxy vote, you can watch the AGM and cast your vote from anywhere around the world, online. To register for a proxy vote, click here.
The AGM also falls in the middle of the Summer Elections, which will take place to elect Academic Presidents, Student Leaders and Union Councillors. This includes candidates running in by-elections for roles which were unfilled in the elections in February. Voting for these elections will open on 9 May at 12pm, and close on 15 May at 12pm. The results will then be released at 5pm on 15 May.
