May
Mental Wellbeing Conference
Following the success of Mental Health Awareness Day earlier this year, SUSU will be holding a Mental
Wellbeing Conference on campus. The aim of the event is to raise awareness and give out information about
different services available to students with mental health issues, which are thought to affect at least 30% of the
student body. A timely occasion what with the commencement of the Summer Exams, SUSU are doing all we
can to bring mental health to the forefront of student conversation by running various activities to provide
students with a break during what can be a stressful time. The conference will be held at The Cube on 10 May,
and will allow students to listen to speakers with experiences of mental health issues, discuss on ways in which
we can tackle stigma on campus, try out meditation and tuck into a free buffet lunch. This month will also see
the return of Mental Health Awareness Week which promises to be a lively and relaxed occasion.
