University of Southampton ad campaign goes viral

The University of Southampton’s latest advertising campaign has gone viral thanks to an impressive television advert.

 

The #weareconnected campaign, which was launched in June, highlights the breakthroughs which are happening at the University, which impact people across the world. Student research projects linked to history, public health and the internet are all mentioned in the advert to display the breadth of ground-breaking research which is currently taking place at the institution, and the variety of courses on offer.

The final CATdown: #SusuCatComp ends this week!

Calling all Scriptwriters!

Reckon you could write a screenplay? Better with words than Shakespeare himself? Well, SUSUtv is running a competition that could see your brilliant story idea realised on-screen. The competition calls for a script for four episodes that should last at least five minutes each but should not be longer than ten minutes each. To go along with the guidelines for the competition, at least one episode must feature a rude awakening, which is the competition’s theme. SUSU have opened an application process for student businesses to apply for a stand at the 2014 Freshers’ Fayre.

 

The Freshers’ Fayre gives you the opportunity to introduce your business to other students and can act as invaluable promotion. The annual fayre is one of the largest daytime events of freshers’ week, attracting thousands of students over several hours, meaning this is an ideal way to interact with students who want to find out more about your business.

SUFST Takes on ‘Formula Student’

Formula Student is described by event organisers as “Europe’s most established educational motorsport competition, run by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. Backed by industry and high profile engineers such as our Patron Ross Brawn OBE, the competition aims to inspire and develop enterprising and innovative young engineers.”

Toilets and changing rooms closed for refurbishments

In General

You may have noticed there is lots of building work going on around campus. As part of this we are giving the toilets and changing rooms on level 1 of 42 a bit of a face lift.

During this time alternate toilet facilities will be available in the Jubilee Sport Centre.

Normal service will be resumed once the refurbishments have been completed on the 26 August.
