SUSU Continues to Host Social Activities Throughout July

In General

Reading Time: 2 minutes

If you find yourself on campus throughout the summer months with nothing to do, never fear, for SUSU is staying open to students and continuing to run exciting weekly activities for your entertainment. Keeping in mind the postgraduates in particular who are required to stay on to finish their projects until the end of the summer, the Union is hosting a range of events to suit all your campus needs and interests. In July, the schedule includes a Wimbledon Final Garden Party on Sunday 6 July in the Stag’s Head from 12pm. For £5 you will be able to watch the Final with a glass of Pimm’s or iced tea and a bowl of strawberries and cream. On Wednesday 9 July Union Films will be showing Rio 2 at 7:30pm for the price of £3.50. On Friday 11 July, the Bridge will be hosting a Live Music Night from 7:30pm (£6 entry). If you’re into football, the Stag’s will host a World Cup barbeque on Sunday 13 July. The Bridge will also be hosting a wine tasting evening at 7:30pm on 18 July (£9 for four wines) and a Karaoke night from 7pm (£5 entry).

If you’re just keen to get out of Southampton there are regular self-funded trips to other nearby towns, such as the Portsmouth trip (giving you assistance in getting the train to Portsmouth), for which you need only meet the group at the Interchange at 9am in the morning of 5 July.

Similarly there will be a Cambridge trip on 12 July (costing £16 without tour or £20.50 with tour), a London trip on 19 July (costing £14.50 without tour or £19 with tour) and an Isle of Wight trip on 27 July (costing £14) – all you need to do for all of the above is meet the rest of the group at the Interchange at 8am.

We hope you will continue to make use of these fantastic opportunities over the summer months as much as you have done throughout term!
