Freshers’ Round-Up: Welcome to Archers Road, Glen Eyre and Mayflower!
Any incoming Fresher who’s worth their salt will know by now that SUSU have got a whole load of huge events planned for you during your first six weeks at Southampton – and the easiest (and cheapest) way to make sure you don’t miss out is by getting your hands on one of our infamous Masterpasses, available only at the SUSU Box Office.
The event to kick off the whole season is definitely not one to miss – the second UV Rave Welcome Party will be open to any Freshers moving in to Archers Road, Glen Eyre (including South Hill and Chamberlain) and Mayflower halls. With all these halls coming together, the Cube is sure to be packed for a great first night as a student, including top DJs and UV Giveaways, as well as the new ‘Grab a Grand’ competition, where some Freshers will win a total of £1000 over the night!
Entry to this second Welcome Party on September 21 will be included on the Outgoing Masterpass, and doors will be open from 9pm to 2am – but it’s best to get down there early as queues tend to be manic!
There are plenty of other welcome events in these first few days of the Freshers’ season. For any newcomers to Archers Road who are keen enough to be moved in on the 20, there’s a Casual Meet and Greet event in your halls bar from 7 to 11pm – get out with your flat and meet even more new people! Entry to the Meet and Greet is absolutely free.
Meanwhile, for Freshers in Erasmus Park who want something a little more relaxing after their Welcome Party on the 20, there’s a Hog Roast on the 21 – probably a good idea to get an early meal in that’s not just pasta and cheese to fight off any Freshers’ flu! The Hog Roast is from 5 until 8pm and will cost you £3 entry – but the food itself is free to all SUSU Masterpass holders (both passes).
