Applications have opened to attend the second annual Futures in Finance Conference (FIFC) for students who wish to embrace a career in the financial world. The conference was set up by students at University of Southampton and held for the first time in October 2013 – attracting 220 delegates from 36 different countries – and will once again be held in Southampton in 2014.

With sponsors including PWC, KPMG, FactSet, BlackRock and Grant Thornton, the event – which this year will take place on the weekend of 18th and 19th October 2014 – is set to be even more useful the second time around. Delegates can look forward to a schedule packed with activities and talks which will be beneficial for students thinking about a career in finance after they graduate.

The conference gives students an insight into current trends in finance through a series of interactive sessions from international organizations, panel debates, and networking events. Attendees of last year’s event praised the FIFC for assisting them in their chosen career path, providing them with much-needed advice for interviews and assessment centres, as well as improving their knowledge of the industry. The FIFC promises to be excellent for career progression and for providing vital advice for delegates.

Attendance to the event costs £35 for single day tickets or £45 for both days. The organising committee have set up a form through which to apply for tickets, to ensure that the conference is as relevant as possible to attendees. Apply for tickets by clicking here.
