Freshers’ Week 2014: The Round-Up of Week 1!
The last seven days have seen an incredible Freshers’ week, and we can’t thank you all enough for your enthusiasm (both Freshers and returning students for working hard) that went into making this happen. Here’s a round-up of some of the best and biggest events…
Monday saw the Treasure Hunt during the daytime, with loads of great prizes up for grabs.
The evening brought the final of our UV Rave Welcome Parties down in the Cube.
The Student Survival Day arrived with great support from The Advice Centre & Nightline and a visit from the ICE Bus (In Case of Emergency bus) – as well as charities such as Coppafeel and Sexpression!
The fire brigade will also dropped by to teach us the importance of fire safety with live chip pan fire demonstrations!
Midday on Tuesday saw the Circus Skills random happening on the grass outside the Stag’s; thanks to everyone who got involved!
Aaaand in the evening, things were a little more relaxed with the first of our ever-popular Laughter Lounge events in the Bridge.
Wednesday brought around one of the biggest annual events in the SUSU calendar: the Bunfight!
In the evening, we held our exciting launch event for the new Hollywood Diner in Bar Three.
Thursday saw the Chill-Out day on campus, with yoga, knitting and box set screenings…
… as well as the Brothers’ Cider tractor out on the Redbrick!
And finally, Friday brought round the Freshers’ Fayre: the ultimate challenge of Freshers’ Week. Did you brave the queue to get your hands on tonnes of freebies?
