Save the Date: 4th November is Wellbeing Day
How much do you know about mental health? Are you looking out for yourself and your friends? There are a lot of myths and beliefs surrounding mental health issues, so awareness is a key factor in dissolving these and getting down to tackling any problems head on.
The University and SUSU have teamed up to hold Wellbeing Day on the 4th November to promote a better understanding of mental health, and provide a whole load of activities to support wellbeing. There will be a range of talks, workshops and interactive sessions to have a look at the whole spectrum of mental health, from relaxation sessions to learning about the science of wellbeing: check these out:
- Peer support drop-in and Nightline services at The Pod, 11am – 4pm
- Volunteer Opportunities on the Concourse, 11am – 4pm
- Arts and Crafts sessions in The Cube, 1 – 4pm
As well as all this, we’ve set up a 10% discount across some healthy food options in all our SUSU Outlets! We’ll have freshly squeezed orange juice available in the Stag’s, and the new meal deal in the Shop will be reduced to £2.50 for this day. The Café will be extending their range of fillings for your jacket potatoes as well as offering a discount on SUSU Salads, and The Bridge will be offering 10% off their Warm Seasonal Salads. Finally, the Coffee Shop (outside the Bridge on the Concourse) will be offering the discount on all their granola tray-bakes.
There will also be a variety of wellbeing stalls and talks available in Garden Court, provided by the University. You can find out more and sign up to these at www.southampton.ac.uk/wellbeing. The event is open to everyone in the University and SUSU – staff and students alike.
