SUSU Lettings are offering £50 to anybody who recommends their landlord; as long as the landlord is of an acceptable standard and signs up to rent via the Students’ Union based letting agency. In order to ensure that only good quality houses are offered, and at a sensible time of year, SUSU Lettings was established. Taking the stress and potential pitfalls out of renting property, their motto ‘No Fuss No Fees Always Fair’ speaks to their aim to make the annual property hunt less of a headache.
The ‘Don’t Rush’ campaign gathered traction last year, and many students have been quick this year to remind lettings agencies that their October/November flyering is unwelcome on campus. As every agency wants to be the first to advertise, the date flyers start to appear has been pulled forward more and more every year, creating a false sense of urgency. There is not a shortage of student housing at all, and it’s much more important who you live with than where. Make sure you get to know your housemates before you hurry into signing a contract.
This year’s campaign is more focussed on signing reputable landlords up to SUSU Lettings, putting them in a good position to become a trustworthy source of housing in years to come. If you have a landlord to recommend, get in touch with SUSU Lettings either in person or via their website, www.susulettings.co.ukTags: October November, Students Union
