Calling all students! Can you tell us why you #LoveSouthampton?
Southampton has over 36,000 students living and studying in the city, (there’s around 23,000 enrolled at the University of Southampton alone!) each with their own special reasons why they #LoveSouthampton. The University is creating a campaign that will capture and celebrate our students’ positive experiences of the city and all the delights it has to offer and share these stories with prospective students within the region, the rest of the UK and overseas.
This campaign will aim to capture a mixture of our own content as well as many stories supplied by students. Can you help? Their objectives are to engage with current students and alumni, (encouraging them to take the time to feed back some positive experiences about their time in Southampton to share with everyone); highlight the diverse range of entertainment, leisure and cultural activities and opportunities that are popular amongst the student community in Southampton (such as music venues, vintage fairs, cultural festivals and popular tourist attractions); celebrate the value and contribution the student community makes to the city; share our own and student-generated content about the city across the University’s main communication channels to stimulate positive engagement from prospective students; and finally, enhance Southampton’s profile and reputation as a city that offers a fantastic student experience for a diverse and international student body.
So we’d like to encourage you to join in the conversation on Twitter and in doing so, continue the campaign for the city. Simply tweet a short story or reason why you love Southampton and its surrounding areas using the hashtag #LoveSouthampton. It can be anything from the Christmas Market alongside West Quay, to the energetic Southampton nightlife to the beautiful sights of Winchester.
And don’t stop there, encourage your friends to get involved if there is anything they’d like to share. Let’s make Southampton the most talked-about city there is!
