SUSU to host Mental Health and Wellbeing Day
The Southampton branch of Student Minds – a national student mental health charity – will hold a day of events and activities on Wednesday (18.02.15) to promote issues of mental wellbeing among the student population.
Representatives from listening support service Nightline, SUSU’s Peer Support programme and Student Minds will all be running stalls to provide information on the day, as well as encouraging students to contribute to an art installation targeting the issues related to mental health.
As well as being able to get advice and tips on reducing stress and maintaining a positive mental attitude, the free and open event will provide relaxing exercise opportunities, as well as board games and other activities to take the focus away from the daily strains of student life.
Running from 12pm until 2pm, the event – which will also be taking place at countless other UK universities on Wednesday – will be held in the Stag’s, with students also being invited to contribute to the national conversation on social media using the hashtag #unimentalhealthday.
