Okay, so this blog post has got nothing to do with the song by Europe. What we mean is that we’ve got a number of important countdowns to make this term, which will end in some truly exciting and unforgettable events, namely the Excellence in Volunteering Awards (EVAs), the Excellence in Teaching Awards (ETAs) and the Course Rep Awards (CRAs). It’s almost the end of another fantastic year at the University of Southampton, you’ve had your chance to nominate the people that you think have really made a difference this year; be that through volunteering, putting in the extra effort in societies, helping with the academic side of university or helping to convey your views and the views of fellow students to the academic staff who can turn those thoughts into actions. With just a few more days to go before the awards ceremonies, we’re sure you’re all curious and excited to see who will be taking away those all-important awards and who will be named the runners-up.

The EVAs, ETAs and CRAs are an excellent way of showcasing the remarkable individuals that everyone has nominated and recognising their efforts in the last year. It’s also a great opportunity for the friends and families of those nominated to go along and celebrate their successes. The EVAs, ETAs and CRAs are always well-attended events and are a great way to find out about all the ways individuals can make a big difference to others.
