Todays the day for voting
If you hadn’t heard, the General Elections are well and truly upon us, and today is the day you get to vote for the next parliament. Wandering down to your local polling station will only take about 20 minutes, and it’s your chance to change history.
The General Elections are what determines the next Parliament in the House of Commons, and run alongside the local elections, which will determine the councilors in your local council. The majority party or parties in Parliament will go on to form a government.
If you’re still unsure of who to vote for, Surge Radio have interviewed almost of all of the candidates in the three of the local constituencies: Southampton Test, Southampton Itchen, and Romsey & Southampton North which you can listen to online: http://surgeradio.co.uk/news
The map below shows the break up of constituencies in the Southampton area, so you can work out which constituency you should be voting in.
