Stress Less Fest – What’s Still in Store
We kicked off the ever-popular Stress Less Fest for 2015 two weeks ago today – while many of you are now celebrating having made it through your exams, we know that there are still plenty of you soldiering on night and day in the library. Don’t worry – there’s plenty of events still to come this week to make sure you Stress Less about those impending exams.
SO FAR WE’VE SEEN…
We kicked off the season with a session on handling Academic Stress, helping you manage your exam anxiety, and held our first Results Hub last Tuesday, so you could bring any worries you had about marks straight to us. We also started up our popular De-Stress and Stretch sessions last week – there’s a few more to come, so don’t worry if you missed out. Keeping the theme of relaxation going, we had our first Art of Calm session, which is also coming back this week!
Everyone’s favourite, the Petting Zoo came back to campus on Friday, and plenty of you got the chance spend time with some furry (or wooly) friends to take a break from the confines of the library. On Sunday, Union Films held their first free screening of the season – The LEGO Movie was a perfect choice for those who needed to kick back and relax for a couple of hours.

If you’ve missed out in the last couple of weeks – fear not, there’s plenty more still to come.
On Tuesday 26th June: Our second Results Hub will be held in the Advice Centre (Building 40) for those who aren’t sure where to turn with any worries about results. You’ll also see the return of De-Stress and Stretch – the perfect way to make sure you’re not too tightly wound during exam season. You can join in in the Martial Arts Room from 9.45 to 10.30am. We’ll also be running the session at the same time on Tuesday 2nd and Wednesday 3rd June. In the evening, the Union Films free screenings return – this time, it’s How to Train Your Dragon 2 – the screening starts at 7pm.
If you’re all about that relaxation, The Art of Calm session returns on Wednesday 27th May, where you can pick up some great techniques to keep you chilled out. Find us in Building 4, Room 1035 from 1.30 to 2.15pm.
The fun really begins on Thursday 28th, with Inflatable Day hitting the Redbrick from 10am to 4pm. Relive your childhood and throw yourself onto the bouncy castles – whether you’ve finished your exams and are looking to celebrate, or just need to some stress relief, we think this one will please everyone.
On June 4th: If you’re suffering from Petting Zoo withdrawal symptoms already, we’ve got the event for you. Pet-A-Puppy is on campus, in association with the Guide Dogs for the Blind. This is looking to be a popular one, so be prepared to queue. The puppies with be on the Redbrick from 11am to 2pm. Also that afternoon is our Culture Cafe event, showcasing the culture and arts we have here in SUSU, followed by a discussion on the future of the arts in SUSU and in Southampton, accompanied be a free afternoon tea! Find us in Bar 2 from 3pm.
RUNNING ALL FEST…
And finally, running all through the Fest until 5th June are these crowd favourites…
The Chill Out Hub will run every day from 11am to 2pm on the Concourse – kick back on a beanbag, watch Friends and play Jenga. For those still working hard, there’s extra revision space available, and we’ll be running the Safety Bus all through the night from the Redbrick to make sure you get home safe. We’ll also be holding the Academic Skills Hub on Level 2 of Hartley from 10am to 2pm and 2pm to 4pm to help you really get your head around that final push of revision.
