Freshers’ for a Winchester student
Freshers’ is only a few weeks away, and here at the Union we’re working hard to make sure everything is perfect for your arrival. Your Halls Reps (JCRs) are ready and raring to go, and now all we need is a couple of thousand new students!
Although Winchester School of Art (WSA) can sometimes seem like it’s slightly out of the action, we can put your minds to rest: this is not the case. Your Freshers’ week is going to be as crazy as everybody else’s, with a whole host of day and nighttime events to cater to all tastes. Like all of those staying in halls in Southampton, you’ll have access to the Master Pass, plus a timetable of events specific to those living in Erasmus Park halls.
Your Freshers’ week will kick off on 19 September with the Welcome Party held in the Students’ Union night club, The Cube. Here Radio 1 DJ Chris Stark will be DJing, and don’t worry about travelling to Southampton as there will be free transport!
There are loads of other events happening in Southampton that we’ll be providing free transport for, including Halls Wars at Student Therapy, Bloc Party, Big Night Out, and of course the legendary Freshers’ Ball. Don’t worry, you’ll also get to know your local area with nighttime events in Winchester including First In Last Out and Art School Types that will be held at Winchester Bars. As well as all this, there will be day events like the Bunfight (our societies and student groups fayre), a scavenger hunt around Winchester and a coffee crawl. You can see the full list of events below:
If you’re attending Winchester School of Art (WSA) and living in Erasmus Park Halls, don’t forget to join their official Facebook group, and like their fan page to keep in the loop with everything that they’ll be doing.
