Introducing… Union Films

In General

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Among all the many things we offer you, did you know that one of them is your very own student run cinema?! Union Films is based in the centre of the Union building and is run entirely for your enjoyment by members of the Union Films student group!

The Cinema is conveniently situated on Level 3 of the Union, so you can buy all sorts of treats from Bar 3 Diner before you head to watch some of the latest films and classic throwbacks that everyone knows and loves. If that’s still not enough to tempt you, we recently installed comfier seating, as well as a huge screen for the films to be shown on. And then there is the price! With most films costing just £3, it is an absolute bargain that should be taken advantage of!

If you are a regular cinema-goer, then you may be interested in buying one of the season passes that they offer. One of their passes will get you entry into almost every film, as well as exclusive screenings for pass-holders! They offer two types of passes, a seasonal pass and an annual pass. You can nab yours here!

Whilst this has probably got you very excited about our cinema, we did say it is student run, and this means that you can get involved! You may be interested in running for Cinema Manager, which is a Student Leader role that is elected every February. Committee roles are then elected in an AGM. Most members of this student group volunteer to help, so whether you are interested in projection, selling tickets or working behind the bar, there are lots of ways for you to get involved. In return, you will get to see the film that you’re working on for free, in a space reserved for volunteers – pretty cool!

Check out the Union Films website for this term’s film listings and all the details about how to get involved!
