BBC Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills and University of Southampton alumnus Chris Stark will visit the Students’ Union on Friday to wrap up their student tour across five UK universities.

Wristbands will be available on Friday at 9am outside the Students’ Union pub, The Stag’s, for students to come and see the action as it is happens. There are only 180 tickets on offer on a first come, first served basis, so arrive early to avoid disappointment.

The tour, which also visits Stirling, Liverpool, Shropshire and Aberystwyth, is broadcast live every day from Monday 5th to Friday 9th October on BBC Radio 1 from 1-4pm during Mills’ regular radio show slot, so tune in to listen.

Details of the DJs’ visit has been kept under wraps as a surprise to students. However, according to a press release from the BBC, “The pair will be taking their LOL features, including Innuendo Bingo, on the road with them”.

If you aren’t able to get a wristband, the show will be available to watch on TV via the Red Button, on the Radio 1 website and students can catch highlights on BBC iPlayer.

We spoke to your Union President, Ben Franklin, who says, “The team are all really excited, this will be a fantastic event for all who are involved and we hope it will generate excitement on campus. Even if you can’t be there for the show, there will be some surprise happenings all over campus leading up to it – be prepared!”
