Although it might feel like the revision for your January exams is never ending, here at SUSU we’ve got loads of exciting events for Refreshers’ week to act as the light at the end of your revision tunnel. In amongst the wicked nights out we’ve got something a bit special going on in The Cube on January 30th 2016, where the Laughter Lounge will travel down a few flights of stairs from its usual venue in The Bridge and be headlined by Josh Widdicombe.

Josh Widdicombe is a comedian and radio presenter, best known for presenting shows on XFM (now Radio X), his appearances on The Last Leg and his BBC sitcom, Josh.

Born in Hammersmith, London, Josh grew up in Devon, later studying linguistics at the University of Manchester. After Uni,  in 2008 Josh started performing and quickly established himself as ‘one-to-watch’ when he made it to the final of ‘So You Think You’re Funny’ at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Even if you don’t recognise the name, you’ll recognise Josh from his appearances on a plethora of panel shows like Mock the Week, Stand Up for the Week and Have I Got News for You, as well as on The Apprentice: You’re Fired! amongst others. Only recently he appeared on The Graham Norton Show alongside Tina Fey.

As well as supporting some of the biggest names in comedy like Russell Howard, Michael McIntyre and Alan Carr, Josh has also embarked on several of his own tours, and it’s his latest tour that’ll bring him to Southampton on January 30th.

Josh Widdicombe will headline The Cube on January 30 2016. Tickets are available now from the SUSU Box Office and cost £15. Entry is not included in the Refreshers’ pass. For more information about the event check out the Facebook page.
