There is nothing more satisfying and worthwhile than giving. And what better way to start than with our annual Student Volunteering Week, which is back for another year between Monday 22nd-Sunday 28th February. You can get involved with events, talks, volunteering tasters and much more across the University and Southampton.
What is volunteering?
Volunteering is ‘freely offering something’, usually your time, to a cause.
It is a common misconception that volunteering is just helping charity. It can be that, but it may also include:
- Coaching your local football team
- Representing your Halls of Residences in a Halls Committee
- Organising an
#YouSaid – “We want more events and activities at WSA”.
#WeDid – We have worked with the WSA Campus President, Ryan, to organise the Saints and Sinners Ball on Friday 26th February from 8pm at Winchester Guildhall.
You can expect live entertainment and themed drinks that won’t break the bank. It will be a night to never forget!

The Big Give is back!
The Big Give is a week-long series of events organised by SUSU RAG in order to raise as much money as possible for their chosen charities, which this year are: Make-A-Wish UK, Student Minds and The Red Lipstick Foundation.
Last year, you generous lot raised an incredible £7,000 during the Big Give week, but this year we want to smash the total and raise even more!

Refreshers’ is in full swing! Tickets to our Refreshers’ Pass, giving you entry into seven huge events has completely sold out, so the only way you can get to tonight’s Big Night Out is by buying individual tickets!
Big Night Out has become something of a rite of passage for students in Southampton. You get the chance to party with 5,000 other students across the city in ten different venues, including Switch,Orange Rooms, Oceana and many more!
