Safety Bus extended times during January
We understand that many of you will be busy studying late on campus during January. Our priority is to keep you safe, so we have organised for the Safety Bus to run from 8pm to 6am until 22nd January. We recommend you take the Safety Bus because it is free with your Student ID and will drop you home safely wherever you live. However, if you do decide to walk, please take a friend with you and let your housemates know when you will be home. Always carry a charged phone so you can seek help if you need it.
Also, don’t forget that we have partnered with Radio Taxis in Southampton as part of our Safe Taxi Scheme. That means that you can get home safely even if you have run out of money on a night out. To use the Safe Taxi Scheme, all you have to do is:
- Phone Radio Taxis on 02380 666 666
- Wait for your text message confirmation and check that the taxi registration matches up before getting in
- When you get home, sign the driver’s receipt and hand over your student ID card
- Wait 24 hours and then collect your student ID card from the Students’ Union reception (Building 42) and pay your fare
