Summer Events 2016: What you’ve got to look forward to
While you’re off on your Easter holidays, we are planning lots of exciting events and activities for the summer. From end of year Balls, BBQs and club nights, the events calendar is looking packed and you’re invited…
Special Events
Athletic Union (AU) Ball – 29th April
Celebrate the achievements of the Athletic Union, including Team Southampton’s Varsity 2016 win with an end of year Ball held at the Ageas Bowl. Tickets are due to go on sale from the Box Office on 22nd April.
Intra-Mural (IM) Ball – 4th May
Aside from Team Southampton, we have lots of sports teams who regularly play with each other internally. The IM Ball is all about celebrating these wins with awards and a night of fun at The Cube. Tickets are due to go on sale from the Box Office on 20th April.
Excellence in Volunteering Awards (EVAs) – 6th May
Do you know someone who has excelled in the world of volunteering? The EVAs are all about awarding those who do their bit to give something back. Tickets are due to go on sale from the Box Office on 20th April.
WSA Summer BBQ – 2nd June
There’s nothing like the sun shining and a good old barbie on the go! The annual WSA Summer BBQ is back in early June to kickstart high summer at our Winchester campus. Tickets are due to go on sale from the Box Office shortly.
Grad Ball – 6th June
From ‘Under the Sea’ to ‘Music Through The Ages’, the Grad Balls of the past have had some legendary themes. With a Grad Ball Committee made up of students, this year, will be all about what you asked for. Venue and ticket information will be announce on Monday 18th April.
WSA Summer Ball – 18th June
Held as our final farewell to the leavers at WSA, the WSA Summer Ball marks the end of University and the beginning of the future for our students. Tickets are due to go on sale from the Box Office shortly.

Afternoon Tea
On the first Tuesday of every month, you can live like a royal and enjoy Afternoon Tea for Two between 3-5pm in The Bridge. Expect finger sandwiches, a selection of cakes and of course, a pot of tea to ease yourself into the afternoon.
Karaoke
Every Thursday in The Stag’s is all about embarrassing yourself in front of large groups of your fellow students. Just kidding…sort of! Grabbing the mike for karaoke and doing your best Whitney or Britney has become something of a University rite of passage. TIP: A selection of beers in The Stag’s helps to loosen the vocal cords.

£1.99 beers in The Stag’s is bound to give everyone that Friday feeling, every week from 4pm.
Laughter Lounge
Watch top professional comedians perform live stand-up in The Bridge for the bargain price of £4 every other Thursday! Make your night even better with The Big Red Membership for £4, which gives you 3 years’ membership and different discount deals at every show. We have two shows coming up on 25th April and 12th May. Tickets will be available soon from the Box Office.
Steak Club and Signature Cocktails
The two magic words to make your Friday’s start with a bang! Head over to The Bridge and choose from a selection of the finest steaks accompanied with a cocktail. Why not pop over for a bite to eat and then head back to TFIF at The Stag’s
Switched On at Switch
We’ve partnered with Switch Southampton to bring you the best club nights every Tuesday. From celebrity appearances to DJ sets to make you want to hit the dancefloor, choose Tuesdays as your housemate night out! Tickets will be available soon from the Box Office.
Quiz and Curry
Choose from a selection of the finest curries at The Bridge every Sunday and be in with a chance of winning all of the quiz prize money! It’s a no-brainer!
WSA Quiz
If you’re based in WSA, you don’t have to miss out. Let’s get quizzical every other Tuesday in the WSA Cafe and even if you’re losing, you’re winning because you get to choose the wooden spoon round for the next Quiz! We also welcome suggestions from students about what food you would like to have – so far we have had curry, chilli and the next event is hotdogs!
