Culture Festival is nearly upon us, but what can you expect? We have written the timetable for the full week’s activities, not to mention a world map and Mandarin translations which will be located across the different University campuses.

Sunday 24th April

HOLI FESTIVAL

★Tickets: £3 for Indian Society £4 for Uni of Southampton Students and £5 for everyone else

Come and join us on the Redbrick to celebrate Holi, the Hindu festival of colour.

It will be a festival full of fun, colours and tradition. Tickets include a free t-shirt and paint powder.

HALLS CULTURAL FOOD EXCHANGE

★18:30 – 20:30
★ In every Halls of Residence (Common Rooms)
★ You need to bring some food to be allowed entry

Do you love food?

Whether you’re from Vietnam, Mexico or Liverpool- bring your favourite food from home along and join in with our cultural food feast!

Please remember you cannot enter the event without bringing some food along.

All food is made and comsumed at your own risk

Come and join our fun and interactive quiz about culture and the world. Perfect for keen Geographers and anyone who loves maps!

Enjoy a curry for just £5, while you team up with your friends to win cash prizes at the quiz. Entry to the quiz is just £1/team member – the quiz begins at 8pm.

Zumba is dance fitness which originated in South America with the first program created by Colombian dancer Alberto “Beto” Perez. Zumba is now a worldwide phenomenon. Join the Zumba society for a taste of Zumba- open to all abilities.

Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian art form, developed by African slaves and their descendants in Brazil, that combines dance, martial arts, music and song in a flowing and acrobatic game. It helps develop fitness, strength, flexibility, balance and rhythm. Come for a taster session and try it out. All abilities welcome.

AFRODYNAMIX

Come and try out a free class with the University society Afrodynamix! Our dance is a fusion of African, Caribbean and Street moves, with lots of energy and style.
