The Edge and SUSUtv launch an exciting new screenplay competition
The Edge Editor, Anneka Honeyball talks to us about an exciting new screenplay competition in this week’s blog takeover…
Are you a budding screenwriter with some time on your hands this summer? Do you have an idea for a short film that you’d love to see realised by two national award-winning media departments? Well, if so, you’re in luck because The Edge and SUSUtv have teamed up to launch an exciting new screenplay competition!
As two of the most entertainment-based Union groups on campus, we love seeing new stories and ideas brought to life for others to enjoy – which is why we have set up this contest. We want to help one lucky winner let their creative juices flow into a project that would be produced, reviewed and shared by us.
As well as receiving campus-wide fame and glory, the winner would have complete creative control of their project, working closely with those at SUSUtv to bring their vision to life. When the film is finalised, one of The Edge’s enthusiastic writers will review it in an exclusive feature – and that’s not all. The final film will also be submitted for consideration to two exciting events; The University of Southampton Student Film Festival (Sponsored by The Edge in association with Wessex Films) and the 2017 NaSTA awards!
To enter, pen a script between 10-15 pages and email it to original@susu.tv before 17:00 on Sunday 09 October 2016.
Full terms and conditions can be found on The Edge website. Good luck!
