It’s Black History Month and we’re showing our support by running a packed programme of events in collaboration with student groups. You can look forward to:
All month – Cultural Food in The Bridge
- Enjoy special dishes in The Bridge inspired by different cultures
Saturday 15 October – Nigerian Independence Day Party
- 19:00 in The Bridge
- Organised in collaboration with Nigerian Society
Thursday 20 October – Hairspray
- 19:00 at Union Films
Tuesday 25 October to – Friday 28 October East African Society Exhibition
- 09:00-17:00 in the Union Southampton Concourse
Thursday 27 October – Hotel Rwanda
- 19:00 at Union Films
Friday 28 October – Black History Month Guest Talk: Exploring academia, intersectionality, history, and personal identity
- 12:00- 14:00 at the University
- This is a University event with speakers covering a range of topics. You can find the full listing here.
Saturday 29 October – Paint & Poetry
- 20:00 at The Cube
- Event with a comedian and 3 poets which will be painted by an artist
- Organised in collaboration with Afro-Caribbean Society
