Health & Safety Incidents – what do you need to do?

In General

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Union and the University take health and safety very seriously and together we work hard to make sure everyone is safe on campus.

But as you know, the University is a busy place and occasionally accidents do happen. In these rare incidences, it’s important to make sure you tell the right people as quickly as possible – this means we can stop it from happening again to anyone else. This is particularly important in light of the current building works on Salisbury Road car parks.

What to do if you are involved in or witness an incident:

The University’s Health and Safety Office has a great system in place for passing on details of injuries, fire incidents and environmental incidents. Even near-misses should be reported so the University’s team can make sure they don’t go any further.

You can fill in an incident form online or call the Health and Safety Office on 02380 593277

What to do if you notice something unsafe on campus:

You will regularly come across maintenance projects and building works on campus. If you see anything that you think might be unsafe, you can email the Estates and Facilities Helpdesk or call 02380 597474
