Boxing Day Sales Tips
Christmas Eve Recon Mission – If you’re really feeling keen, going on a scouting mission on Christmas Eve can be a great way to prepare for the sales. Check the back of labels in your fave stores for any markings or numbers which suggest they’ll be going in the sale! Most shops mark everything on Christmas Eve in preparation for Boxing Day.
Arrive early – Okay, so we’re not saying you have to be up at the crack of dawn. But make sure to arrive at your chosen shopping destination by mid morning at the latest to get hold of the best bargains.
Plan your day – Know where you’re going to go. This will save time on the day, and make sure to visit the more expensive stores first as they will have limited sale stock compared with the high street retailers who will have plenty more to come out from the stockroom.
Eat before you leave – The only place busier than the shops on Boxing Day are restaurants and cafes. Line your stomach for a shopping session before you’ve left home to avoid queuing up for a sarnie on your travels.
Choose location wisely – Bigger shopping centres and stores will inevitably be very busy, but also have the most stores and the bigger the better when it comes to maximising the deals on offer!
Don’t ask for sizes – If it isn’t out, they don’t have it in your size. Don’t bother wasting time asking, just look for something else.
Don’t try stuff on – Again, this wastes valuable shopping time and you can just return anything that you don’t like or doesn’t fit in hindsight after the day. A lot of stores won’t let you try stuff on anyway on the first day of the sales.
Be decisive – Time is of the essence, so make sure to come to swift decisions about items. If you aren’t 100% sure, just buy and return at a later date if you change your mind.
Get it over with – If you’ve planned your route well, and left relatively early, you can get in and out with minimum fuss in as quick a time as possible. Nobody enjoys the mad busy shopping centres, so get out ASAP!
Treat yourself – You’ve earned it through your generosity over Christmas- time to buy for you now!
