RAG are celebrating their 90th birthday and what better way to celebrate than a week of exciting fundraisers from karaoke to a night out in a mystery city!

For 90 years, students in Southampton have been Raising and Giving to charity. This year, RAG are hoping to raise as much money as they can for their three nominated charities for the year:

  • Action Against Hunger
  • HCPT The Pilgrimage Trust
  • Alzheimer’s Society

What events will RAG be holding for the rest of the week?

TONIGHT – RAG Presents: Take Me Out

Join us for RAG’s take on ITV’s Take Me Out dating show. Let the pina see the colada as we watch love blossoming at Bar 2. There will be prizes for three of the lucky couples including free mini-golf, tapas and cocktails at Mango, or a romantic Sprinkles date. Either come along to get involved or watch the magic happen.

TOMORROW – RAG presents: The Stretcher Bar Crawl

  • 20:00-23:59
  • The Alexandra Beer Emporium
  • Tickets are £3 each or £10 for a team of 5 available at www.unionsouthampton.org/boxoffice or £3 on the door – proceeds go to charity

Back after 50 years, RAG are re-introducing their Stretcher Bar Crawl! Feel like an extra on Casualty, as you race through Southampton City Centre carrying each other on stretchers – yes really! At each venue a member of the team will race inside, drink a pint (responsible drinking encouraged!), complete a challenge and race back outside and onto the stretcher.

The speediest team will get a chance to win prizes and then you can all celebrate the evening at Oceana for a night out.

Make sure you prepare your stretches and get them tested – we don’t want any casualties!

FRIDAY 10 FEBRUARY – ComedySoc presents: The RAGular Show

Enjoy a good giggle with friends as you watch some of Southampton’s finest comedy. Whether you’re into stand-up, sketches or improv, we’ve got something for you.  We will be serving special cocktails on the night and 50p from each one plus your ticket price will go to the nominated charities.

FRIDAY 10 FEBRUARY – CoppaFeel! Presents Mean Girls Night @Switch

  • 22:00-02:00
  • Switch, Southampton
  • Tickets are £4 each available at www.unionsouthampton.org/boxoffice before 23:30 including VIP or standard entry which is usually £5/6 on the door – proceeds go to charity

You can sit with us – providing you wear pink! We’re fundraising in Regina George’s clothing as we don The Plastics’ signature colour and head down to Switch for a night out.

SATURDAY 11 FEBRUARY SUNDAY 12 FEBRUARY- ENIGMA 2017

  • 18:00-05:00
  • It’s a mystery!
  • Tickets are £16 made payable via a £1 deposit from our Box Office at www.unionsouthampton.org/boxoffice with the remaining £15 balance to be paid when you collect your t-shirt from Santander UK on Highfield Campus. Santander are match funding every ticket, turning your £15 into £30 for charity!

A night out in a mystery city – literally! Your ticket includes a blacked out bus trip to a mystery location where you can party the night away. We won’t reveal any more until the night! One bus has already sold out, so hurry and get your tickets before they go! In previous years, RAG have brought you a boat as the final venue for Bristol 2015 and Ms. Dynamite for Brighton 2016. This time its going to be bigger. This year we have organised *5* incredible venues, before transporting you back to Soton before dawn.

How can I get involved?

All proceeds of ticket sales bought from the Union Box Office at www.unionsouthampton.org/boxoffice will go to the three core charities above, so you can help by coming along and being the change.

I can’t make the events, but I want to be able to contribute

You are also able to make a direct contribution to RAG’s three core charities online herehttps://mydonate.bt.com/events/ragweek2017/413290
