Five students running for Union President
With nominations now closed, we are pleased to introduce our candidates for the Spring Elections 2017.
We have received a healthy 51 nominations from students running for our Full-Time Officer and Student Leader roles and the figure includes an incredible five nominations for students running as Union President this year. The Union President is responsible for leading the Union and the Full-Time Officers. The role involves playing a key part in decision making across the Union, including chairing our Trustee Board and being in charge of Union finances.
Seventeen students nominated themselves for our Full-Time Officer roles – and you can see the full candidate list for all positions online via our Elections page.
The Full-time Officers are paid positions responsible for overseeing the policy and activity zones, and setting the direction for the Union each academic year. They oversee and support the Student Leaders and other voluntary officers in their roles throughout the year.
You will be able to decide who leads the Union by casting your vote from Monday 27 February at 12:00 to Friday 03 March at 16:00.
All University of Southampton students are eligible to vote, which you can do online at www.unionsouthampton.org/vote. Alternatively you can vote in person at one of our physical polling stations across the campuses throughout voting week.
Make sure you make an informed decision, by reading the candidates manifestos at www.unionsouthampton.org/elections.
