SUSUtv shortlisted for Best Media Society at National Societies Awards
You may remember reading our recent blog post, calling for nominations for the National Societies Awards.
Following a flurry of nominations, we are delighted to announce that our student-run television station, SUSUtv have been shortlisted for Best Media Society.
Head of Publicity, Tara Granea comments, “Everyone here at the station is absolutely delighted with this nomination! We’ve been working so hard all year and, although we don’t do it for the awards, it’s such a great feeling to see everyone’s effort pay off. We’re very grateful!”
The awards, due to take place on Friday 19 May at the Crowne Plaza, in Nottingham, is a chance to celebrate the incredible work of Union societies with 14 awards up for grabs.
SUSUtv are up against seven other Union student media societies including:
- Falmouth and Exeter – Wild Doc Soc
- Falmouth and Exeter – Exeposé
- University of Edinburgh – EUTV
- University of Leeds – The Gryphon
- University of Liverpool – Ellipsis Magazine
- University of Nottingham – Impact
- University of Nottingham – NSTV
The news comes following the student group’s recent success at the National Student Television Association Awards (NaSTAs), where the group came highly commended for ‘Best Writing’ for their short film Blind Love. You can read the full story here.
