Grad Ball 2017: Fizz and Fun on the Redbrick!
Can you believe that Grad Ball 2017 is just over two weeks away? We hope that you’ve been perfecting your selfie poses (in between revision and essay submissions, of course) as we prepare to celebrate your time here as a student, Southampton style! Throughout the week we will be announcing some more exciting information about what you can expect on the big day.
To start things off, let’s set the scene on the Redbrick, for what’s shaping up to be an incredible night.
Exams are over; you and your pals are all dressed up and ready to go. You’ve gotten in the taxi and then had to rush back because of course someone forgot their Student ID. You finally get to the Union, a quick flash of your wristband and you’re in! It’s still light outside so you head straight to the Redbrick…
Ah the Redbrick, the things that have taken place here over the years. From Fayres, to Cake Sales, Zumba to Fire Pits, this area has been a centre point during your time here as a student, and it’s about to get a whole lot livelier!
As you know, we will be welcoming three fantastic acts on to our outdoor Acoustic Stage. Alongside Hannah Trigwell, we have country-pop sensation, Clara Bond, and Southampton born pop artist Danielle May who you’ll recognise from her regular Friday night performances in the Stag’s. As well as this, our very own Surge Radio will be delivering some awesome tracks to get us into the celebratory spirit. We’ll also be offering up some tasty grub here at our Food Fayre – but be careful not to get anything on your smart outfits!
“What about the drink prices?” we hear you ask…
Do not fear! As well as having student-friendly drink prices across all six (yes six) of our Bars, we can also reveal that there are some additional offers exclusive to each venue.
On the Redbrick, we’ll be toasting to the end of an era with a glass of fizz for £2.50 or a fruity Bellini for £3. There will also be a variety of shots to choose from for just £2. That’s three drinks for under £8, enough for anyone to throw some shapes without breaking the bank!
Excited? Just wait until you see what we’ve got lined up for you in our other venues! Keep your eyes peeled on our official Facebook page this week for more exciting information.
Don’t forget to get your ticket before Thursday 01 June, when the price increases from £35 to £40. You can also count down the final weeks until the night on our Official Grad Ball website at www.unionsouthampton.org/gradball.
