We’re always working to improve your student experience, that’s why we’ve made a few changes to some of our outlets over the summer…

American Coffee Shop, Bar Three

Looking for the ultimate barista experience? Look no further than our brand new American style coffee shop, Bar Three, which is now open! We won’t just be serving hot drinks either – we’ll be selling iced coffees in a multitude of flavours, as well as iced, slushy cocktails, milkshakes and refreshing fruit smoothies too.

Each day, we’ll have a selection of tasty American themed cakes, pies and cheesecakes, as well as brownies, tray bakes and warm Belgium waffles, with the choice of toppings, fruit and sauces for you to enjoy. You told us that you wanted more vegan and gluten-free options at our food outlets across campus, so we’ve made sure that we have a tasty dessert menu to cater for this. And the best bit? It’s all to take away and at student-friendly prices!

What’s more is that we’ll be offering our own cinema style meal deals, with a range of snacks for you to choose from, including popcorn, hot dogs and nachos, for you to take into the cinema next door.

Flora Noble, Union President, said: “I’m so excited for everyone to see the brand new Bar Three menu – we’ve got loads of new desserts for you to try. You can also grab a cheeky coffee in between lectures! As ever, we’d love to hear your feedback – let us know through You Make Change here.”

Arun Aggarwal, VP Communities, added: “I’m really looking forward to the new Bar Three Coffee Shop. I can’t wait for a cheeky waffle during lunch, and I’m sure students will love the added variety of foods!”

The American Coffee Shop at Bar Three will be open 08:00 – 16:00, Monday to Friday during term time.

The Café and Bar 2

The cooked breakfasts we serve at The Café are a student favourite, and we’ve got a great range of breakfast items for you to choose from. As well as this, we’ve introduced ‘Build-A-Burger’, where you’ll have a choice of scrumptious toppings to put inside your burger. Our customisable breakfasts and burgers are both flexible and affordable, meaning we have something to suit all tastes and budgets.

Not only are we offering a brilliant new range of food, but in response to our members who said it can be hard to find space to dine in The Bridge, we’ve created specific study spaces in the Union elsewhere. If you fancy a change from the library, you’ll be able to do your work in the new study area provided in Bar 2, as well as designated areas in The Café.

Samuel Dedman, VP Education, said: “I’m incredibly pleased that we’re able to make two new study spaces available at the Union. Access to more study space is one of the most frequent suggestions from students, so the fact that we’re able to bring these locations within the Union is fantastic news. I’d urge any students with ideas about other spaces that we could be making better use of to get in touch with me on vpeducation@susu.org.”
