Autumn Elections 2017: The Winners

In General

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Huge congratulations to everyone who was elected into position in our Autumn Elections!

During this round of elections we voted for Academic Reps, Halls Committees and Student Leaders, alongside electing our Halls Committees. Together, these students will work across the University and its various sites to make sure we represent the academic interests of all students, and make your university experience the best it can be.

Our Reps and Officers have varied roles and remits, from representation at course levels to putting on some events in halls. Find out more about the newly elected teams, and their plans at susu.org/elections.

Here’s a quick reminder of some of the roles elected this month, and how you can get in touch.

Halls Committee
The Halls Committees plan fantastic social events for everyone living in Halls (Private Rented also have their own committee) and make sure life at Halls is a fun and safe experience. If you have any ideas, get in touch via your Halls Facebook group.

Academic Reps
The newly elected Course Reps and Academic Presidents will work with the Faculty Officer to voice any ideas or concerns you may have about your course to the Union and University and implement some of these ideas. Make sure to speak to them if you have anything you’d like to feed back.

Postgraduate Committee
The Postgraduate Committee ensure all our Postgrad students’ voices are heard across all our campuses. They will also make sure Postgrads have a brilliant line-up of social events throughout the year and are kept up-to-date with updates and opportunities from the University and Union. Share your ideas on their Facebook page.

We will be getting to know the officer team at WSA during a series of blogs and interviews, coming soon.
