Southampton RAG raises £38,625.26 after four months of student fundraising
Our Raise and Give Society, Southampton RAG has raised so far an incredible £38,625.26 to charity in just four months (September – December 2017) through student fundraising activities. This total has benefited over 20 charities, including CLEAR, Mind and AIDS Orphan and is over £12,000 more than was raised this time last year.
Societies who have taken part in fundraising this year are: British Red Cross, Cameroon Catalyst, Coppafeel, Engineering Soc, Hindu Soc, Humanist Soc, Islamic Soc, Jazzmanix, Korfball, LGBT+, Lopsoc, MedSoc, MindSoc, MNDA, Netball, SKIP, SUSingers, Unicef on Campus, Wateraid and Zumba+.
Students fundraised in a variety of fun ways including 24hr bike rides, pumpkin carving events, charity quiz nights, Santa walks, charity auctions and lots of bake sales!
Charlie Morris, RAG President, says: “I am so proud of the huge amount of money students have raised this term. Everyone has worked so hard and the total reflects that. It shows that when students come together for great causes we really can make such a difference.”
