Reading Time: 3 minutes

In last week’s blog we gave you some more information about the VP Engagement and VP Education roles. Today we’re rounding it off with some information about the roles of VP Communities, VP Sports and VP Democracy and Creative Industries (DCI).

VP Communities

Passionate about inclusivity? Interested in different cultures?

Working with the Student Communities Coordinator, this role consists of raising awareness of multiculturalism in Southampton and celebrating diversity across campuses. You’ll be working closely with relevant Student Leaders and staff members to deliver the Union’s campaigns and projects at all sites. You will ensure that the voices of our students are heard across all levels and campuses and work to build connections so that all students have access to support and resources.

Throwback to our staff flash mob at WSA during Freshers’ 2017!

VP Sports

Love sports? Bleed burgundy? Never missed a Varsity game?

As VP Sports, you’ll be the first point of contact between the Union and Sports and Wellbeing at the University. You’ll develop and work towards strategies and plans to motivate more members to get involved in sporting activities, either in BUCS or in recreational activities, with the support of the Union’s Director of Activities. Representing student athletes locally, nationally and internationally is another aspect of the role, and you will work with the Union’s Sports Coordinator to develop sports clubs and support their development plans.
