Making Change Summit – April 2018
On Tuesday 17 April our next Making Change Summit will be taking place on the Concourse (Building 42, Highfield), 11:00-15:00. Don’t miss out on the chance to share your opinions and ideas which will help shape the future direction of the Union, as well as the wider university structure. This time we will be discussing the following:
- 11:00 – What is the point in Sabbatical Officers?
- 11:30 – Is the Union too white? **POSTPONED to later date**
- 12:00 – Is funding for societies a waste of time and money?
- 12:30 – Is it sustainable to offer free printing?
- 13:00 – Do initiations have a place at University?
There will be free hot chocolate and tasty samples from our new vegan range which was launched in response to the recent You Make Change submissions and the discussions at the last summit.
The times for each debate are to be confirmed, so please keep an eye on the Facebook event here for updates.
Union Senate will also be taking place on 17 April at 18:15–21:00 on the Concourse. This is an opportunity for you to discuss other important issues, and challenge the progress of our sabbatical team so far.
Don’t forget, nominations for our Summer Elections open on 30 April, so now is a great chance to start thinking about which position might suit you. This includes by-elected Student leaders, WSA Committee roles, Student Trustees and more. Stay tuned for more information in the next few weeks.
