During Expect Respect Week (Monday 16 April – Friday 20 April) we will be running events and activities which focus on healthy, respectful relationships – whether these are friendships, romantic and sexual relationships, families, or the relationship you have with yourself! #ExpectRespect

Tuesday 17 April
Resilience Workshop // 13:00 – 14:45 // Meeting Room 2, Floor 1, Building 42
This workshop will teach you practical skills to help you remain calm and handle the stressful situations life can throw at you, as well as helping you to understand the physical effects stress can have on your body.
The workshop will be delivered by the highly acclaimed John Perry, a Principal Teaching Fellow in Healthcare Communication within Medicine at the University of Southampton.

Come along and chill out – a quiet space to relax or get some work done.
Mindfulness Meditation Session // 15:00 – 15:50 // Meeting Room 2, Floor 1, Building 42
Relax and unwind at our free meditation session, run in partnership with the University’s Enabling Services team.
This session lasts for 50 minutes and will include a brief introduction to mindfulness, 2-3 short guided meditation practices and time for reflection and questions towards the end of the session.

Yellow Door Workshop // 17:00 – 18:30 // Meeting Room 1, Floor 1, Building 42
Yellow Door is a registered charity working to support individuals and communities across South West Hampshire. They offer a range of services dedicated to supporting those who have experienced abuse, as well as delivering award winning preventative workshops and outreach across the region.
This workshop will focus on what makes a healthy and unhealthy relationship, looking at elements of control and abuse. We will construct a relationship timeline and look at how each element of this would impact self-esteem, as well as the issue of consent and the laws surrounding it.

Mindfulness Meditation Session // 15:00 – 15:50 // Meeting Room 2, Floor 1, Building 42
