Southampton Sharks shoot hoops with The GROW Project

Chris Conti and Simeon Superville, from our very own Southampton Sharks (SUBC), ran a fantastic basketball activity session for five members of The GROW Project last Friday. The GROW Project is an innovative charity committed to bringing day services to adults with physical and learning disabilities in Southampton and Eastleigh. Once we heard that several of their members were interested in basketball, the Sharks jumped at the opportunity to help!

After a quick warm-up in the Team Southampton Sports Hall, Chris and Simeon coached the basketball fans in dribbling, shooting, and passing. Everyone was encouraged to team up, get involved and learn some new basketball skills, and before long, we began to see quite a few goals in the net! One member was particularly enthusiastic, and Simeon enjoyed giving him some extra tips for those outside shots. Offering each member one-on-one coaching and encouragement, the Sharks delivered a fun and engaging session, with big smiles all around.

We hope to see the GROW Project back here for some more sports and activities before too long! To see more of the amazing work that they do, visit their website.
