Do you want to be the voice of students? Do you have ideas about how to improve student life at Southampton and want to make them happen? Nominate yourself in our Spring Elections 2019!

We are recruiting five Sabbatical Officers (listed below). As a Sabbatical Officer you will lead and be the public face of the Union, working on making positive changes, events and campaigns happen.

Want to find out more? We are holding three drop-in sessions with our current Sabbatical team and Coordinator teams who will be available to answer your questions.
Thursday 17 January, Students’ Union (B42), 14:00 – 16:00
Tuesday 22 January, WSA Café, 12:00 – 14:00
Tuesday 05 February, Avenue Campus, Reception desk next to the Café, 14:00 – 16:00

Nominations are also open during Spring Elections for Student Officers, Student Trustees and the WSA Committee.

WSA Committee
The roles available are WSA Officer, International Officer, Welfare Officer and Social Events Officer.

Student Officers
Student Officers are responsible for representing specific groups and areas of work within the Students’ Union. You will be the voice for all students helping with key decision making and campaigns throughout the year. Our Student Officers are part-time volunteers, so you will need to be a continuing student to take one of these roles on. You’ll gain a wealth of experience and employability skills volunteering with the Students’ Union and can put yourself forward for recognition through our STRIVE scheme.

Student Trustees
Student Trustees focus on the strategic direction of the Students’ Union, ensuring that the Union creates and implements strategies that meet its objectives. You will sit on the Trustee Board and will help to ensure students are at the heart of financial decision making at the Union.

If one of these roles sounds like the opportunity for you, nominate yourself today here – susu.org/elections.

Did you know you can also nominate a friend? If you know someone who would be the perfect candidate for one of these roles, you can put their name forward here: Suggest a friend.

Nominations are open from today (Monday 07 January 2019) and close on Wednesday 13 February at 13:00.
