Break the Silence this Sexual Consent Awareness Month
Throughout February, our Sexual Consent Awareness society (SCA) are hosting a variety of events to raise awareness of safe sex, healthy relationships and support.
Take a look at the full calendar of events below:
Self Defence with Hung Lung Kuen Kung Fu society, Tuesday 05 and 07 February, 19:00 – 20:30. FREE self defence class.
The session on Tuesday 05 will be held in the Activities Room, Level 2, Students’ Union (Building 42).
The session on Thursday 07 will be held in the Martial Arts Studio (Level 1, Students’ Union, Building 42)
SCA at WSA, Thursday 07, 14 and 21 February, WSA Café, 13:00 – 15:00
Quiz and Curry Takeover, Sunday 10 February, The Bridge, 19:00 – 22:00
‘The Hunting Ground’ Charity Screening, Wednesday 13 February, Union Films, 17:00

Flamingo Takeover with CocSoc, Saturday 16 February, The Stag’s, 19:00
Come along for a night of sex positivity, prizes, sexy games, and having fun whilst learning about safe sex and consent!
50p of every cocktail bought goes to charity.
SCA Culture and Diversity Presentation with Yellow Door, Tuesday 19 February, 18:30, location TBC
Yellow Door are coming to the Students’ Union to give a presentation about world female genital mutilation (FGM) and sexual assault in diverse communities. Come along to learn how you can support BAME communities.
Speed Dating with Southampton RAG, Wednesday 20 February, 19:00 – 22:00, The Bridge
Come along for some good old fashioned speed dating – you could meet someone special or just have a good time, all while helping charity!
This is an event in partnership with Sexual Consent Awareness Southampton raising money for our core charities Yellow Door, Anthony Nolan and Help Refugees.

Your voice can help break the silence. Last year we launched a survey alongside SCA to better understand sexual harassment, sexual assault and rape at the University. The survey is still available to complete, and is completely anonymous. Information gathered will only be used to support our efforts to ensure all students are safe at university – it will not be used to identify you.
