Switch off from screens this National Day of Unplugging

Reading Time: 2 minutes

On Friday 01 March, we will be switching off from our screens and social media to join in with National Day of Unplugging – a ‘communal digital detox’.

From the National Day of Unplugging website – “The National Day of Unplugging (NDU) is an annual 24-hour period, of observing a communal digital detox.
The NDU is an outgrowth of the Sabbath Manifesto, an adaption of our ancestors’ ritual of carving out one day per week to unwind, unplug, relax, reflect, get outdoors, and connect with loved ones.
The NDU provides an opportunity for diverse individuals, communities and organisations to join around the common thread of disconnecting from our devices to connect with those things that are truly important in our lives.”

You might be thinking, “this all sounds great, but 24 hours without my phone, laptop or TV to entertain me? Nah.”

Don’t worry, the Union’s Sustainability Zone are planning loads of brilliant activities and events for you to get involved with, and all are FREE to enjoy!
