Boat Club Success with Fundraiser at Karaoke

Congratulations to SUBC who raised £131.64 for Prostate Cancer UK at their Karaoke takeover last week. They had previously asked people to dress up in blue when attending the event to show solidarity.

The club also plan to ‘March for Men‘, a 50km walk from the Boat Club to Bournemouth Beach during March. The fundraiser has currently raised 25% of its £2500 target and if you would like to donate you can do here.

This is all to raise awareness of the fact that 1 in 8 men are expected to get prostate cancer in their lifetime, with the risk increasing by 2.5x if an immediate relative has previously developed the disease.
