Table Tennis Men’s Second Team Win the Conference Cup!

In Sport

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Congratulations to our Table Tennis Club Men’s 2nd team, who played Bristol’s 2nd team on Wednesday 11 March in the Conference Cup finals and won with a score of 14 – 3!

Our Men’s teams have now won the Conference Cup for two consecutive years! Next year, both teams (1st and 2nd) will be playing in the National Trophy where the competition will be even harder.

In other news, our Table Tennis Women’s 1st team was unfortunately knocked out of the National Trophy semi finals against a tough Nottingham 3rd team, but to get to the last four teams in the UK is an incredible achievement in itself! Our Women’s 2nd team didn’t drop a single set in a home match against Bath 1st’s on 11 March, winning 5 – 0.

Olivia Reed, our VP Sports, says: “I’m really proud of the success’ of all our Team Southampton athletes throughout the year. Southampton Table Tennis have gone from victory to victory and certainly deserve this win.”
