Trans and LGBT+ Support Organisations
We support our Trans Student Community this Trans Awareness Week and beyond. If you’d like to get in touch, please email vpwelfare@susu.org. Below are some local and national organisations who can offer support:
Mindline Trans+
A confidential listening service for people who identify as trans, agender, gender fluid, and/or non-binary. Mindline Trans+ is run by trans, non-binary, and LGBT people, and trans allies. The helpline is co-run by local mental health charities Bristol Mind and Mind in Taunton and West Somerset. More information about Mindline Trans+ can be found at: mindtws.org.uk/trans-plus/.
Switchboard LGBT+ Helpline
This provides an information, support and referral service for lesbians, gay men and bisexual and trans people – and anyone considering issues around their sexuality and/or gender identity. Telephone and online support available.

National Trans 24h Helpline
National Trans 24 Helpline is a organisation that supports anyone who is Trans Intersex, Questioning and Non-Binary, offering a listening ear and tailored support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Call or WhatsApp their team at 07527 524034.

Chrysalis are a charity supporting transgender and questioning people, their families and close friends.

Mermaids
Mermaids provides a helpline aimed at supporting transgender youth up to and including the age of 19, their families and professionals working with them. The helpline offers emotional support, a gateway to the parents and the teens forums, information about current legislation and protections under the law, plus signposting to training and resources.
