International Forum

We are pleased to announce our first International Forum, a casual discussion event held every month free for all to attend.

Its aim is to brainstorm ideas to see what future changes you would like to see regarding all things international. 

The first International Forum will take place at 11am on the 11th  December 2018 in Bar 2 in the Students’ Union (Building 42).

You don’t have to come for the whole thing, you can drop in whenever and stay for as little or as long as you would like. Refreshments will be provided.

Outcomes from the Making Change Summit + AGM

On Thursday 29 November 2018 we held our first Making Change Summit of the academic year, and our Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Our AGM is a legally required meeting to approve the accounts for the Students’ Union, appoint the auditors and consider other governance matters. It requires 250 students to have registered a proxy vote online or be present in-person in order to be a valid meeting.  This year we had 270 voters, although not all of these voted for every point on the agenda.

Hello! My name is Emily Harrison and I am your VP Student Communities for 2018/19.

As part of my role, I oversee the representation and support of Postgraduate students. However, I do not do this alone! We also have elected PGR reps and a Postgraduate Committee who help provide feedback about what students want and help to deliver PG events and activities.

Autumn By-elections: Nominations Now Open!

As well as our Halls Elections, we are also running by-elections for a select number of roles at the Union. If you want to make a difference on your course, at your faculty, or to represent a wider community of students, put your name forward!

Nominations are open from Monday 05 November at 09:00 – Thursday 22 November at 13:00.
