Members of our Marketing and Communications Crew hit campus last week to gain your views on the student experience in both Southampton and Winchester.

The crew, who are also students here at the University of Southampton, took ipads around campus to encourage you to fill out the National Student Survey (NSS).

The national survey, which can be completed at www.thestudentsurvey.co.uk, is a UK-wide feedback indicator, which is used to help us and the University to improve the student experience.

Open to all final year undergraduate students, we use the information to make positive changes for the future.

Over the past 6 months there has been tonnes of positive changes within the Education zone. Your Vice President Education, Sophia D’Angelico, has worked in so many different areas to ensure that the University of Southampton can provide the best academic experience possible.

In March we received approval for a 24 hour library period, which was trialled 6 days a week from April 28 to June 2. Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held at 12pm on 14 May 2014 in The Bridge, and is one of the most important meetings of the year for students at the University of Southampton.

Policy and idea suggestions are now open on the SUSU website. Ideas for policy must be submitted by Monday 28 April 2014 at 5pm to be considered, while policies which you want to be debated at the AGM must be submitted by 7 May 2014 at noon. These suggestions will then be discussed at the meeting.

We’re pleased to announce that the deadline to nominate yourself for a course rep position has been extended by 24 hours. The nominations period will now end at 23.59 on Saturday 19^th October.

Course reps are vital in making sure that students’ voices are heard – as well representing you on university committees, they work with the VP Education, Faculty Officers and Academic Presidents to get your opinion on the issues this matter. (For example, this week, they’ll be asking what YOU think good feedback looks like.)

Voting is now open in the SUSU Autumn Elections! This is your chance to decide some of the people who help run SUSU – you can check out who’s standing at susu.org/elections.
